Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Irish or not, this is an excuse to eat some delicious Irish food — maybe even some green food — and drink some Guinness. Here’s a rundown of what restaurants in the area are serving in honor of the day. This is not a comprehensive list, so if you’ve got something to add, tell us in the comments.

Swiggs starts celebrating when the doors open at 11 a.m. with $1 Guinness. As part of the “Guinness waterfall,” the prices get higher as the day wears on. Details here. (And sorry, that delicious looking corned beef sandwich at right isn’t available locally. It’s a pic from photographer Andre J. Jackson of the Detroit Free Press.)

Of course a place called Irish O’Sullivan’s is celebrating St. Paddy’s Day today. They have an outdoor beer garden, a DJ and live music, specialty drinks and Irish nachos. See their menu here.

Shenanigans Irish Pub & Grill

has green beer and food specials all day. Their employees got up early to film a KSEE 24 spot about their food and drinks (and are those green Jello shots?).

Dutch Bros., (who clearly aren’t Irish, they’re Dutch) is getting in on the fun with a $2 16-ounce white chocolate mint “frost” or a $2 16-ounce iced, hot, or blended Irish latte at all its Fresno locations.

Sunnyside Diner has homemade Irish soda bread, corned beef and cabbage and more today.

The Southern Pacific Depot Restaurant in Visalia will be serving corned beef and cabbage for lunch and dinner.

If you’re up in the mountain towns, Ducey’s Bar & Grill in Bass Lake has Irish entertainment and a corned beef and cabbage plate. Five dollars from each plate will be donated to The Boys & Girls Club of Oakhurst.

Crab Cakes Restaurant in Oakhurst will also have a corned beef and cabbage plate, with $2 from each plate going toward a local woman battling cancer. There’s also dancing and a DJ from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

And, of course, what discussion about green food would be complete with a mention of the classic Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s?
